MY GRAMMA STORY

The very proud "Uncle Shane"

The new "Grampa"

"Auntie Rye" holding a baby for the first time ever!

The insanely YOUNG "Great Gramma"

(We will have photos taken of the also very young "Great Great Gramma - 5 generations - this summer!!)

She had 15 and a half hours of hard labor. She dilated to a 4, then the labor stayed hard, with no progress. Until shift change that is! The new nurses had new ideas, the new OBGYN said he would give her a few more hours to make some progress. The baby was looking good and so Halie gave it her all. She didn't want an epidural, but she got one to see if it would help. Let me just say that she was a WAY happier camper when the pain was gone! The nurses got her in a few different positions, I went out to have a smoke, and Halie texted me - "Mommy I need you now!" I ran back to the room and was expecting them to tell me she needed an emergency c-section, but lo and behold she had dilated to a 7 and a half!!! About 90 minutes later, she was ready to push, and she only had to push about 10 minutes before the baby was born!! It was the most incredible amazing beautiful thing I have ever seen! My baby had a baby!! I will say that the baby was much smaller than I had expected, but perfect in every way. I can not even describe in words how full of joy I am, happy and full of love, so proud of my new grandbaby and my daughter. There is absolutely nothing like it!
