Do you see the dog??

I went for a drive today, just to clear my head a little. I always end up at the same place in the park - the waterfalls. They froze a little....

Tonight - it's off to have some fun. Our whole family is going to participate in something outside of this house..... on a Thursday..... what is this world coming to?

Rye has a crush on the neighbor boy. But then so does the oldest daughter who is much closer in age.... Heeehee! These kids are all crazy I tell you - just crazeeee!!

My new son here - such a sweetheart - I have adopted him against his will. Did I mention he has quite the patience with little kids? They all ganged up on him yesterday and tattooed him with markers.

That is what you get for stealing my cigarettes Mr. Man!!

YEAH - I LIKE CHEESE

This is what my daughter chose for her birthday dinner the other night - macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, grilled cheese sammiches, cheesy doritos, and soda pop. At least she picked out a completely affordable meal - but ohhhhhhh our tummies hurt!

Shane Michael made his sissy a birthday card at school to surprise her with. She was so happy - yep - the little things really do matter most. She was so happy with her present too - it's awesome to have such loving and unselfish children. These kids teach me about life every bit as much as I try to teach them.

Things around here have stabilized for the moment for anyone who might have been wondering. Life is so short, and I am so blessed to have my beautiful family. A dear friend of mine says maybe the past events were a "wake up call," and I do believe she was right. Though lots of things will be changing, I think it will be all the right things. Forgiveness, moving on, going forward instead of letting destruction take over. I'm actually pretty calm, maybe seeing things with a new set of eyes. We are looking at possibly moving out of this house, moving out of this town and starting over after school is out. I've been putting my resume out there, looking for everything from photography to programming jobs, he's thinking about going back to school. Halie is doing so well in school that she will probably graduate early now. She won't get to walk until May, but at least she is back on the right path now. I suppose life can only be what you make it - and it's just our turn to change ours for the better. My advice to Halie has always been that she would never know if she didn't at least try - I guess it's time I tried that myself....
