Attempting To Change..... Again.
Edit This
...... if they have any vacation deals to fat camp?? It would totally be so much easier for me to have someone tell me what to eat, when to eat it, when to take my pills, and have nothing but time to exercise. Of course I need someone to scream at my face while doing the said exercising as well. Like my own personal Jillian. She could kick my ass into shape I bet. Now leaving perfect dreamland and returning to reality.....The last few days I have been trying something much different. I am not on a diet, but I am surely watching my sugars and fats intake. I am no longer eating two large meals a day, and I have started having a little breakfast. All day long, I have little "snacks" so to speak, and I am attempting to keep my blood sugars level all day. It's been a bit crazy because adding the new meds has sent me on a sugar roller coaster of sorts. Mostly trying to keep myself from dropping too low has been the problem. For the moment I have been trying to just control the foods I take in, but next week - adding exercise.......

Life Moving Fast
Edit This
Another art piece I did for Color Class.....Only about 6 1/2 weeks of school left! Things are insanely busy, and I feel like I am just constantly going. Today I go in for a shitload of blood tests, and then the mammogram finally. I can hardly wait. Not. All of it is just part of a check-up, but I am a little scared about having my tigolbitties squished to death!Riley came home from school yesterday and started puking her guts up. While I was cooking supper she said her tummy hurt - I figured she just wanted to take a pass on the hamburger helper, but no, she really didn't feel good. Then Mar calls me and says Journey is vomiting too. Kind of makes me wonder if it is a tummy bug or if it was something they both ate at school. Both the girls spent the night with their heads in the toilets, then at about 2 am, Riley gets the diarrhea to top it off. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep, and I am betting Mar didn't either. Oh the joy.I have a huge speech to prepare for tomorrow at 8 am sharp. I am in a group of three, but we haven't had much time to get together because our schedules are all so different. A little stressed about it to say the least. After this one, we only have 2 more speeches and 2 more big tests left to complete the class. I will be soooo glad when this semester is over!

There is absolutely nothing better for the soul than sitting down to complete silence with some brushes and paint and a blank canvas. It's finding the silence that tends to be the most difficult. I've got the pills, got the books, tried the therapy, and watched the yoga dvd. Nothing compares to creating, even if the creation itself is rather sucky.
I watched a show last night where this girl uses a knitting needle to draw on her skin. She has some kind of allergy that causes her skin to welt up temporarily where she has drawn. She then takes photographs of her artsy skin, and she has her own gallery show! I thought it was really cool that she took what might be called yucky, and turned it into her own form of self expression. Talk about finding peace with yourself....

Spring Break
Edit This
We took the kids to Exploration Place on Tuesday in Wichita. The traffic was icky, but we had a ton of fun. The first thing we found was this cool bubble thing that they got in the middle of!
Of course you know that any exhibit in Kansas is not complete without some kind of info on tornadoes! This one is the little kids standing in the middle of one!! (Close yer eyes Mackey!)
We even found a palm tree for Spicy!
The playground outside was pretty cool too!
I think we were all most fascinated by the exhibit on flight. They had so many simulation games to play, I thought I would never be able to drag them out of there. Needless to say, we didn't leave until the place closed!
If you live in Kansas and have never been, I would say go, go, go!!! It's just awesome, and there are so many things to look at for all ages. Just about everything in there you can touch and play with, not like a regular museum where the kids get pretty bored. Much much fun I tell ya!
Today: Kite Flying!!

Here are the little one's spring pictures from school. (Aunt Sissy - feel free to snatch them!) I am guessing that there is definitely no need for skin whitening products in this household. I think I gave birth to the whitest kids on the planet! Must be the Welsh heritage in them I suppose. The oldest child hates her photo taken these days, but maybe soon I'll get her to give in and let me take a few portraits of her.The race is on today, but it's also supposed to be a wonderfully warm and nice day out. I have to work on my speech that is due right after spring break (with a couple of other girls in my class) and I would love to find some time to work on my painting. There are only a few weeks left until the art show at school so I really need to get busy!Hope everyone's weekend is restful and fun!

Show me the job market...

In 62 more days, I will finally be a college graduate. I know people do this all the time, but for me it is insanely exciting and momentous! I got an email on Friday about getting fitted for the caps and gowns, and I guess it just made the last two years come full circle - it's finally going to happen. I have let go of trying to be perfect, and am now concentrating on just getting down the path. Speech class has proven to be very difficult for me, and at the same time kind of liberating. Magazine class is just frustrating - I never should have signed up for it in exchange for a couple hundred bucks worth of books. I mostly have no idea what I am doing, nor do I understand all the talk about the server and wireless router and all the other such jargon. I do have great teachers at least, who try to help me understand. I would love to be able to say that this experience has helped my anxiety and panic when it comes to dealing with people, but for the most part it has only confirmed the fact that I will never be able to function without medications. This semester has been the most difficult, providing the most triggers for panic attacks. But - it's almost over. It's almost OVER!

What do you do to prepare for severe weather season? Do you pack a special box or some kind of tool kit? We have things scattered everywhere, but we tend to use the spring break period to find them all. The weather radio is on top of the fridge - which when Mar calls during tornado season she gripes about it being too loud. LOL! Got the rechargeable flashlight ready to go, because you never know when the lights will go out around this town. A few gallons of water, a first aid kit, and then of course.....CAMERA, TRIPOD, AND GAS IN THE TRUCK!!!!
Heeee! The season is upon us!!

I'm still whining about the difference in the quality of photos that come out of digital cameras. For this low-key shot, I used my 300D with the borrowed macro lens from school. I will probably be a die-hard Canon fan as long as I live, but I am still aching for a new one. So much of the digital technology had advanced since I bought my camera. I would prefer a 5D - which is completely out of my league as far as price, but a 40D would be nice too. I wish they would hand out camera scholarships so to speak. No matter how good you are, or how many great ideas you have in your head, you won't be able to execute the perfect shot without the right equipment. My problem comes in the poorly lit situations. None of my lenses stop down to more than f4, and even with a flash - if I am not right up next to something it gives a poor photo. On my camera, when I use a high ISO - like 1600 - the image comes out very noisy. I am told that with the 40D's that this issue has been resolved. I would love to play with one and see exactly what it can do! Gotta love technology!

I got to borrow a true macro lens from school. I have been playing with it all weekend. I want.....Carl Edwards won the race yesterday! That was fun to watch. I kinda feel bad for Jeff, and even fat boy Tony - they both looked pretty jacked up after hitting the wall so hard. (weight equipment Tony - use it buddy) Good race though. It rained chunks of ice here again last night, and we even had a couple of tornadoes down south of us by Oklahoma. Lots of lightning yesterday, but nothing I could get out in and photograph. (Don't worry Mackey - I stayed in the house!)The weekend brought a nice rest for me, but now it's time to get back to the grind. Spring Break starts for me on Saturday for a wonderful 11 days off!! I am counting down the time!
