RAIN RAIN GO AWAY...

4:04 PM Posted In Edit This 3 Comments »

It's never going to end is it?

IT'S NOT SANE

7:27 AM Posted In Edit This 9 Comments »
My fire flowers... I like to call them. Simple, but pretty I think.

My soon to be giant sunflowers. Maybe i'll get one good enough to enter in the fair? Maybe.
Everything is dull and dreary here. It's been raining ever since we put up the pool, and is still supposed to rain the next couple as well. It's rather depressing.

ODDEST BIRD I EVER SAW!

10:00 AM Posted In Edit This 6 Comments »

What a piggy! This little guy decided to eat all the bird seed out of my feeder in the front yard! This morning he has been out back in my zucchini. Weirdo.

We get to buy fireworks today in the county - but can't shoot em off until Saturday. Gonna get some big ol' boomers! My house has become a fricken amusement park!

THE POOL IS FOOOOOOOOLLL!!

11:13 AM Posted In Edit This 8 Comments »
Well here is what we did all day yesterday. We moved almost 10 tons of sand to the back yard with a wheelbarrow and shovels, to level out the ground for the pool. We now own a beach. MarMar came over to help us set up the pool since she has had to do it twice already this year. It finally filled all the way up around 10:00 this morning. It's 18 feet across, but it looks humongo. Of course now it is supposed to rain for the next three days. It's not been as hot this summer as it was last year. I think I am going to have to move my bird feeders too, cuz the birds keep shitting in the pool. Yay.

I finally got a Cardinal in my feeder this morning! He's a perty one!

PLEASE HELP ME!! WHAT IS THIS BIRD???!!

9:42 AM Posted In , Edit This 11 Comments »
For the summer, rather than leave my children's minds completely idle, we have started "home schooling" so to speak. We are doing a unit on birds. In our attempt to attract birds to the gardens, we put out seed feeders, and hummingbird feeders. (Still no hummingbirds)

We have managed to attract some very pretty little birds that seem to come in pairs. I am guessing that the bright colored one is the male. We just can't seem to identify what they are exactly. The closest thing we can find is the Great Rose Finch, but we are not positive that is what it is.

If anyone knows exactly what these little birds are, your help would be greatly appreciated!! (Click the Pics to enlarge)
Here's to continued education in the summer!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S BEEN 2 YEARS!!

MEMORIES..... WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?

5:06 PM Posted In Edit This 6 Comments »
I love this video of Riley - She was just over 2 years old, but insisted that she was 3 or maybe even 4!

WHERE ARE THE HUMMINGBIRDS??

9:58 AM Posted In Edit This 8 Comments »

OK - Nothin. So is there some kind of special call for these birdies?? I really really want to see some! Here birdy birdy birdy!! Come over an let me take yer picture! So should I bake them a cake or what??

SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER....

11:00 AM Posted In Edit This 6 Comments »

Ahhhh the first harvest of radishes for meeee!! This was actually just a thinning, so that the other's could grow big and strong too.Man are they gonna taste good in a salad! I have been getting a bit more sun lately, working out here in my garden. My face is burnt a little. There is just something about planting seeds and watching them grow, then reaping the benefits of your own hard work. It makes everything taste so much better I think. And you get a new appreciation for what you are putting into your belly too.

I don't know what kind of birdy this is, but he is hurt and sitting around in my garden this morning. I don't know what to do for him. It makes me sad, cuz he is missing an eyeball and is all kinds of beat up on his little back. Something mean must have gotten too him. Poor birdy.

HAPPY SUMMER!

The epitome of summer! (Being 5, blue popsicles, swing, sprinkler wet!)

Gawd we need a bigger pool! Seeeee MACKEY - we have green grass!! Heehee!

Halie likes her job - for now at least. I didn't get to go take pictures of her because of course our truck broke down. So PPHead has to drive my car to work (He really hates that) until we get the truck fixed. Oh well. I spent the day outside, playing with the kids and weeding some of my garden. I think I am going to hang up some old christmas lights behind the garage. Yup.

ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EDGE

The sunset last night was soooo orange an pink an purpley.

MY BABY HAS A JOB!!

3:10 PM Posted In , , Edit This 6 Comments »
Halie starts working tommorow at her very first JOB!! I think I am going to go a couple hours after she gets there and take pictures. She outta just LOVE that! Heehee! Our philosophy on parenting a kid this age - make them work for it themselves. She wants a car - so she's gonna have to buy one for herself, and pay for her own insurance and gas. This will be a start! Welcome to the real world my darling daughter!

IF IT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE.....

I got this check in the mail today - as payment for potential employment.... well part of it anyways. All I had to do was cash this check at my bank, then go down to the local MoneyGram and send a total of $3,885 to someone named Darry Markland in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada M3T 7P9. This would cost around $135, which of course $180 in service fee money was included. I would get to keep $820 for all my hard work!! I was then supposed to fax them a "Customer Service Evaluation Sheet" which gave my review of the business, along with the receipt from MoneyGram. Hmmmmmmmm..... Sounds great! And hey the bank is real:
NORTH FORK BANK
14621 JAMAICA AVE
JAMAICA,NEW YORK
718-657-1500

(The info wasn't on the check though - I called their corporate office)

The first page of the letter I got. Looks ok don't it?

Oh yes please take my evaluation here...

Code of Conduct?? Wow that makes it look super really real!!

I called the branch bank, and the man that answered the phone didn't seem to care. He said they don't issue cashiers checks.... what kind of a bank doesn't issue cashiers checks?? Sounded a bit shady to me - like ummm maybe he is in on it?

Ok - so I wanted to run out and cash the check - I mean who wouldn't?! But my measly little instincts told me to do so would mean big trouble. I did my research first and found out that it just aint true.... no secret shopping for me. So I wonder how much fun it would be to completely screw with the scammers.

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

11:44 AM Posted In Edit This 3 Comments »

This is the big part of my garden here. As you can tell - it needs desperately to be weeded. I just haven't had the time or motivation. I have an awesome tool called the "Garden Claw" and I love it to pieces - it makes things a lot easier. Now I just need a day without rain!

Some of my little green tomatoes! I cannnnot wait until we can have some red ripe ones for sammiches! They make EVERYTHING taste better!

I found this software that will make giant raster prints of your images. This one is about 44X40 inches and is on my living room floor. I need to find a giant piece of cardboard to glue it to. I want to trim this one up and mount it, maybe hang it in the living room. Pretty cool stuff eh?!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU DADDIES!!

8:57 PM Posted In Edit This 7 Comments »

PPHead an Daddy went fishin today - caught some catfish even. Fishguts for my garden. Sign of feelin better for my Daddy.

There has never been another man in this world that has been more important to me than my Dad. No man more loved, no man more influential.
I love you Daddy.

I'M GOIN CRAZY - WONT YOU COME ALONG?

3:58 PM Posted In Edit This 12 Comments »

There is a nest of baby birds here in my clothesline pole. I wonder if it is the same family, because this is my third summer in this house, and we have had a nest there every year.

Some of my garden plants are doing pretty good. Suprising really as late as we got some of it in. This is squash - but I can't remember if it is zucchini or spaghetti or yellow squash. All the paper markers got rained away. I will just be suprised! The gophers are everywhere and they have eaten my 3rd planting of green beans. I don't know how to get them to leave without putting poisons out, and I don't want to have poison in the yard. I'm naked.

YOU HAIRY VETCH!

8:11 AM Posted In , Edit This 4 Comments »

Sounds like a bad name calling incident doesn't it?! Nahhh - it's a wildflower that has taken over my fences, the roadsides, and everything else it can sink it's little tendrels into. I thought at first that it was just weeds, but then when I looked it up I discovered it was a flower of sorts. I am going to help it spread all along my back fences, because really - I like purple, and I like the way it drapes over everything. Maybe it will bring the bees back? I did see a few little honey's working around in the hairy vetch....

LIFE IN ALL IT'S GLORY

11:52 AM Posted In , Edit This 7 Comments »

I picked my first harvest of sugar snap peas this morning! Very exciting I know... Now I am hoping I can keep them down. I have had the puking vomits for 2 days in a row. Hungry yet? I think I just have some kind of stomach bug or something. After I puke, I feel pretty good for a while, but then it just comes right back. I have shit to do so oh well.
Rye is singing again, tho it sounds a bit funnier than usual. She ate cheese yesterday - very good sign. I'm going to attempt to feed her some baked chicken today. Cross yer fingers.
Even with all the excitement lately, I find myself wishing school would start - for me anyways - I like having the kids at home. I need something more to do than laundry and dishes. I did open my Ebay Store back up, though I don't know what it will really do in the summertime. Hopefully I can make a few sales. We shall see.
I have been feeling a bit down lately, realizing that people are even more dissapointing than I originally thought. I guess I have been dwelling on that whole "Mom" thing - I just don't know why she takes such great pleasure telling all of her friends and half my family bad and mostly untrue things about me. For someone who is supposed to love me unconditionally.... And there is really no way to make it better - if I retaliate - I bring myself to her level. I don't want to be there. I have thought about piling up all the shit she ever gave me and burning it in her front yard. But.... nah. I suppose the people who really matter in my life know the truth. It just sucks.
I'm not in a total hole however. There has been just enough good news around to keep me dancing in the kitchen!

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!!

"I have to drink HOW MUCH??" (Before pain meds kick in)
We had a bit of worry yesterday, Rye wouldn't drink, and wasn't making any pee-pee either. The doc wanted to admit her to the hospital, but I asked him for some pain meds and a few hours to see what we could do. She got some tylenol with codeine, and within an hour of taking it, she was drinking. Later that night she had her first few spoons of chicken broth as well. She finally started peeing again too.

This is Hippy Daddy's "fistula" for dialysis. It looks bad, but today he got out of his house and came to visit our little sicky sickerton Rye. He looks sooosooo much better. He is now on a permanent M-W-F dialysis schedule. Tuesday was his last chemo treatment - and he is very glad about that one.

And he is even acting much more like himself! He says that floam scultpture there was a nuclear head explosion.... uhhh huh!

For about 2 hours after Rye has her pain meds, she feels really good. She was so happy to have grampa come over to play floam party with her. She had a bowl of chicken and stars soup, and then for supper a regular chicken and noodle soup. She has basically turned her back on the sprite and ice-cream. Daddy says the whole ice-cream thing is just a big lie that parent's tell their kids to make them think that having tonsils out is actually fun. At least she sips the gaterade and chicken broth though. So things are shaping up all around, and I am so relieved and happy about that. I can't wait to hear my little Rye be able to sing me her silly songs again - then I will know she is alllll better!

TENT CATERPILLARS INVADE!!

8:44 AM Posted In Edit This 7 Comments »

These perty little things are called "Tent Caterpillars". They were/are eating up Mackey's crabapple tree. Bad butterpillars!

I thought they were gonna be perty butterflies.... but nooooo! Me an Mackey had a bet, an I lost. They will just be really big moths.

They string some webby stuff out of their butts, and build these nasty little tent colonies - eww. Speaking of butts....heehee!

Whilst in Canada, we went to a car show which also had a ton of neat lookin bikes - mostly Harley Davidsons. We thought of Mel when we seen this one..... if ya look real close you can see our reflections in the bike. This one was cool as hell, and the exhaust pipes were made to look like tommy guns.

I also finally got to try out some Poutine! They have it at Burger King man! It was actually pretty good, but I bet it is a whole lot better somewhere else than a fast food resteraunt. BK's was a bit salty.

SOME DAYS IN THE LIFE OF

7:13 AM Posted In Edit This 13 Comments »
PPHead carrying Riley out of the hospital yesterday. She did really well, but is feeling pretty crappy this morning. I hate seeing her feel so bad. She's been having a rough time keeping things down, and is only allowed tylenol for pain which I find totally retarded. Not much sleep around here last night. Hopefully today will be a bit better.

I was getting my coffee this morning, and the rains brought a present for us to look at! Riley's favorite color is "rainbow".

These two pics are my most favorite ones from my trip to Canada! The top one is of those mirror thingy's at the park. The bottom one here is Buffalo Bill. Mackey stoled his motorized bike. Heehee!!

I stoled the Timmy's mugs. Now I have Timmy's coffee to go in them too!

ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI ALL COVERED WITH CHEESE

5:12 AM Posted In Edit This 8 Comments »

We are getting ready to go to the hospital right now for Riley's little surgery. She is having her tonsils and adenoid taken out. We have to be there by 6:30 but the surgery is at 8:30. I know that when she is all healed up she will feel sooo sooo much better though. If all goes as planned, we should be home by 3:00 or so, but she will be a very sick little girl I am told. The first week she has to spend in bed, and the next week she can play quietly, but mostly be in bed. I promise I will try to bloggeth some more vacation photos soon, but forgive if I don't get to get around quite yet! Hugs to everyone! Love Beck.

I MET TIMMY'S AND CORI AND EVY!!!!

Ma'am is THIS your chicken??

So then day one of my trip started out a real pisser eh? I was supposed to be on the ground in Edmonton by 2pm, and instead I didn't get there until like 9pm or something. It was late. My original plane got broken. I freaked out at the airport an didn't want to ride it. So they stuck me just behind first class and sent me on my way. To my great displeasure, they also stuck me in a window seat - which ended up being one of the most awesome things I have ever seen! These are photos from my window - high in the sky - the likes of which I never thought I would ever experience. It was just beautiful!

See there that engine??

I was ON TOP OF the clouds!!! On top I say!!

Thank you Mackey, for making me feel at home with your family. You made my once in a lifetime trip an experience I will never ever forget as long as I live ever. I miss you already :(
